REVIEWS

Really appreciated the feedback “His Royal Highness was most interested to learn more about the people of Llangollen through these very evocative photographic studies.

As Patron of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, the Prince of Wales always takes a keen interest in the town and its activities and is very conscious of its special place in the cultural life not only of Wales but of the entire world.

The book you so kindly sent is a further reminder of the particular character of Llangollen and of the dedication of those people to sustain its community life.”

The Duchess of Cornwall

“I am so pleased to have been on the list to receive this and I have visited the site at length several times, now.  Each time I come away with such a wonderful feeling about how a community can present itself with such spirit, pride, creativity and effective promotion.  What a place!  It makes me wish I could be there to meet and talk with them all.  Congratulations to you and all who were behind this effort.  Outstanding.”

Inspired by Rembrandt portraits, Simon Collinge and Andrew Gale applied the Dutch artists’ dramatic lighting to photograph over 100 of Llangollen’s clubs and societies.

This high quality photographic book is a unique record of the people and their activities preserved for posterity, providing both an historical record of the town and a fascinating guide for visitors.
